The Quenq Project
Quenq is a living archive of internet culture. It is dedicated to one simple idea: the web's most creative and chaotic eras deserve to be experienced, not just remembered.
We miss the days when the web was weird, creative, and full of personality. The days of Flash games, intricate fan sites, and operating systems that had soul. Most of that history is disappearing as technologies change.
Our mission is to bring it back. Not just as screenshots, but as fully interactive, living experiences right in your browser.
What We Build
We focus on three main pillars of digital nostalgia:
- Reborn XP: Our flagship project. It isn't just a visual mockup; it is a complex recreation of the era's most popular OS with a virtual file system, working programs, and a level of detail that borders on obsession.
- The Arcade: An ever-growing archive of the Flash era's greatest games. We use modern emulation to make these classics playable forever, directly in your browser with no plugins required.
- The Apps: Home to our library of preserved software. From full console games running in browser to classic system emulation and legendary web pranks, this is where we preserve unique artifacts of internet culture.
Community Driven
Quenq is a passion project, not a corporation. To keep our site running and our archives growing, we are supported by on-site advertising. This model allows us to keep the entire experience free for everyone, without paywalls or subscriptions. It's how we fund the preservation effort.
Our direction is also shaped by our community. Many of the games in the Arcade and features in Reborn XP exist because a user suggested them in our Discord or through the contact form. If you believe in our mission and want to help us decide what to preserve next, we'd love to meet you.
