About Project I.G.I. (I'm Going In)

Project I.G.I. (subtitled I'm Going In) is the landmark tactical stealth first-person shooter developed by the Norwegian studio Innerloop Studios and published by Eidos Interactive in December 2000. You play as former British SAS operative David Llewelyn Jones, dispatched by the Institute for Geotactical Intelligence (I.G.I.) and guided over radio by your handler Anya to infiltrate fortified post-Soviet military bases, capture the arms dealer Jach Priboi, and recover a stolen nuclear warhead.

Built on Innerloop's proprietary flight-simulator terrain engine, Project I.G.I. broke away from corridor run-and-gun shooters by introducing vast outdoor compounds, long-range reconnaissance, security camera networks, and high-stakes stealth infiltration across 14 unforgettable campaign missions.

Tactical Stealth & Infiltration Gameplay

  • Binocular Reconnaissance & Satellite Map PDA: Scout sprawling snowy compounds from distant hillsides with high-powered binoculars, track guard patrol routes and armored vehicles on Anya's live satellite map computer, and plan your entry before firing a single shot.
  • Security Systems & Verticality: Shoot out sweeping CCTV cameras, hack security terminals to disable base alarms, cut through electrified perimeter fences, climb watchtower ladders, and ride steel ziplines with the game's signature third-person camera transitions.
  • Authentic Military Arsenal: Wield over a dozen real-world weapons, including the Combat Knife, suppressed Glock 17, MP5SD3 submachine gun, AK-47, M16A2 with M203 grenade launcher, Dragunov SVD sniper rifle, Spas-12, Pancor Jackhammer, Minimi LMG, and LAW 80 rocket launcher.
  • High-Stakes Tension: With zero mid-mission saves, triggering a base alarm siren brings waves of alerted reinforcements, rewarding careful stealth, clean headshots, and smart route planning.

The Complete Experience, Preserved on Quenq

After Innerloop Studios shut down in 2003, the original Project I.G.I. became abandoned software that is notoriously difficult to run on modern Windows 10 and 11 PCs without crashing or requiring third-party DirectX wrappers, and impossible to play natively on Macs, Chromebooks, or phones. (Read the full story in our archive feature: Project I.G.I. - Why a Forgotten 2000 Stealth Shooter Defined a Generation.)

On Quenq, we preserve the complete, genuine 2000 original directly in your browser. Recompiled to high-performance WebAssembly, all 14 campaign missions, cutscenes, weapons, and audio tracks run natively on desktop and mobile with zero downloads, plugins, or compatibility headaches.

Exclusive Web Edition Upgrades & Mobile Touch Controls

This preservation release keeps the 2000 campaign 100% authentic while adding modern quality-of-life features configurable via the launcher's SETTINGS button or the in-game gear icon:

  • One-Click 100% All Missions Unlocker: Click UNLOCK: ALL MISSIONS (100%) on the launcher screen to unlock all 14 campaign missions immediately so you can jump straight to any level. Click RESET PROGRESS anytime to return to normal progression.
  • Full Mobile & Tablet Touch HUD: Designed for touchscreen play with a left virtual movement joystick, swipe-to-aim camera, dual FIRE buttons (bottom-right and top-left for two-thumb claw grip), tap-to-hold CROUCH and WALK latches, and dedicated buttons for PEEK, BINO, MAP, USE, and RELOAD.
  • Gyroscope Aiming (Motion Controls): On smartphones and tablets with motion sensors, enable Gyroscope Aiming (Scoped Only or Always On) to fine-aim sniper shots by tilting your device, just like modern mobile shooters.
  • One-Tap Scope Toggle & Right-Click Zoom: Instead of holding keys down to zoom like in 2000, toggle your sniper scope cleanly with Right Click on PC or a single tap of the SCOPE button on mobile (configurable to 2x, 4x, 6x, or 8x zoom), with separate Scoped Sensitivity sliders.
  • True 16:9 Widescreen or Classic 4:3: Choose between an expanded widescreen 3D field of view that fills modern displays (while keeping 2D menus distortion-free) or the original 4:3 aspect ratio.
  • Persistent Browser Caching (OPFS): Game files and campaign progress are cached locally in your browser's Origin Private File System so subsequent launches load almost instantly.

Yes. Click SETTINGS on the launcher (or click the gear icon in the top-right corner while playing). The original 2000 PC game breaks on modern Windows systems without compatibility wrappers and cannot run on phones, Macs, or Chromebooks. On Quenq, the complete game engine has been recompiled into modern WebAssembly so all 14 levels run natively inside your browser tab with zero downloads or external plugins.

On your very first launch, the browser downloads the original game archives and caches them into local storage (OPFS) so future launches are nearly instant. If the 3D view shows a black screen, make sure Hardware Acceleration is enabled in your browser settings (Chrome Settings > System > Use graphics acceleration when available).
